Gerard Pique has confirmed that he would like to be club president one day, one of his dreams that he would like to execute in the future.

Gerard Pique said that being the president of FC Barcelona was one of his “dreams” as he reiterated his love for the club and how he can adapt to it.

For more than a decade, the Spaniard who played for the Blaugrana was the surprising name on the list of contract renewals at the Catalan giants, which was confirmed in October.

Pique will be 37 by the time his current contract expires in the summer of 2024, but it is possible that he will stay at the club to play another role.

Presidential elections, which dominate Barcelona news for the moment, at Camp Nou are scheduled for January, to replace Josep Maria Bartomeu, who resigned last month.

“In the elections which come now, I cannot run because I am still a player, and when you are a player, you cannot run for the position, but you never know in the future,” he said declared to the daily Marca.

“I am very, very, very connected to Barcelona, as you know. I wish I could help the club from my heart in the best way that I know, and this is happening because I am so well prepared to be president if one day I see that I can really contribute to the club. Otherwise, I wouldn’t be running, ”he added.

“This is something I will decide in the future, it is one of my dreams that I have always had, but I do not know if it can be achieved in the future,” said the former Spain international.
