Argentina’s public prosecutor’s office said the country’s judicial authorities would investigate the death of soccer star Diego Armando Maradona and order searches of his personal doctor’s property on Sunday.

Maradona died at the age of 60 years from a heart attack last Wednesday, according to the statements of the private doctor, and was buried on Friday next to his parents in the Garden Bella Vista Cemetery.

The prosecutor’s office said that prosecutors in the Buenos Aires suburb of San Isidro issued the search warrant, and a local judge signed it.

“Yesterday (Saturday) investigations and evidence of evidence continued with hearing the statements of persons, including direct relatives of the deceased … Based on the evidence gathered, it was necessary to issue a search warrant for the home and office of Doctor Leopoldo Loki,” the statement said.

The Public Prosecutor’s Office did not mention the reasons that led to the opening of investigations.

Maradona’s lawyer, Matthias Moria, said that he would seek investigations into the football legend’s death circumstances, criticizing what he described as a slow response from the emergency service.

“It took the ambulance more than half an hour to arrive, which is criminal folly,” Moria tweeted on his Twitter account on Thursday.
