French Stéphanie Frappart will go down in history after being appointed to lead the Wednesday match between Juventus and its Ukrainian guest Dynamo Kiev, becoming the first woman to lead a meeting in the UEFA Champions League football competition, according to what the Confederation announced.
Stéphanie Frappart, 36-year previously, entered history as the first woman to lead a match in the French Football League. It then repeated the same achievement by leading the European Super Cup match between Chelsea and Liverpool in 2019, before she recorded her debut in the European League, “Europa League” last month.
It is the first time a woman has been appointed to lead a match in the most important club competition ever.
Juventus will meet Dynamo Kiev on Wednesday in Turin as part of the Group G competitions, which settled their cards to the final price in favor of the Italian champion in the past nine seasons and Barcelona, Spain, before two rounds at the end of the group stage.
