Salah scored his 100th goal in an exciting battle between Liverpool and Everton

The Merseyside summit between leaders Everton and “wounded” arch-rival Liverpool ended in a dramatic 2-2 draw at the start of the fifth round of the English Premier League.

Everton failed to take advantage of the moral boost by achieving 4 consecutive victories to continue failing to achieve any Premier League victory over Liverpool during 10 consecutive years, despite the local summit being held at Goodison Park and despite the shaking of his opponents after his historic 2-7 defeat to Aston Villa in the fourth round.

Sadio Mane opened the game goals early by scoring the Reds’ first goal in the third minute, and Michael Kane tied for Everton in the 19th minute.

Mohamed Salah regained Liverpool’s lead in the 72nd minute, which was his 100th goal with Liverpool, but the Reds were not content for long with the progress, as Dominic Calvert Lewin tied for Everton to lead the tournament’s scorer with 7 goals.

Video assistant referee (VAR) saved Everton by canceling the winning goal for Liverpool scored by Jordan Henderson in stoppage time, under the pretext of Mane’s infiltration in a controversial shot that did not convince the fans.

Despite the tie, Everton is still in the lead with 13 points, while Liverpool raised its tally to 10 points in second place temporarily.
