Sinagra, son of Argentine soccer legend Diego Armando Maradona, has asked for the number 10 to be drawn from his father’s teams, including Barcelona and Naples.
This came during an interview with the Spanish “Marca”, in which he mentioned: I think that withdrawing the number that my father wore in the clubs in which he played, including Barcelona, would be the best honor for him.
And Maradona, “60,” died last Wednesday of a heart attack. He had worn the shirts of Argentinos Juniors, Boca Juniors, Barcelona, Naples, Seville, and the Old Boys.
Sinagra commented on the celebration of Lionel Messi, the star of the Catalan club, who immortalized the memory of his late fellow countryman during his team’s match against Osasuna in the 11th round of the Spanish League, as Messi took off his shirt to reveal his city’s Old Boys shirt number 10, which Maradona wore in 1993.
Maradona’s son said of the ceremony: I loved the honor that Messi gave, it made me cry a lot, it was very moving.
