Dagestani Khabib Nurmagomedov, the lightweight champion in mixed martial arts, has hinted to return to his retirement, which he announced last October, and fight a new fight if he is paid $ 100 million.
The 32-year-old “Eagle” shockingly announced his retirement after a successful career in mixed martial arts, as he won 29 fights and did not suffer any defeat.
Nurmagomedov justified his retirement at the time with a promise he made to his mother after his father’s death with complications from infection with the Coronavirus. Still, he stressed that “the money is talking.”
If Dana White, president of the Mixed Martial Arts Federation, wants Nurmagomedov to return to the fights, it will not be an ordinary sum.
“If I say I will stop, I mean what I say, but if Dana (White) offers me a large sum, I will reconsider, for example, if he offered me $ 100 million, it would be difficult to reject the offer and think about it,” he said.
Since things are not yet clear, there are media reports that Nurmagomedov’s competitor in this upcoming fight will be either the Irish Connor McGregor or the American Dustin Poirier. Regarding them, Nurmagomedov says, “He is not interested in the opponent … I trounced them in the past.”
The Russian wrestler – who refuses show fights – is currently focusing on promoting the game and becoming one of the sports adopted in the Olympic Games.
