Barcelona raised its tally to 20 points in fifth place in the league table with this victory, while Real Sociedad stuck at 26 points In second place.

Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman expressed his happiness with the victory, and said in a statement to the Spanish newspaper “Marca”: “We have achieved a very important victory and we deserve it, and the second half was more difficult because they created more opportunities and played against a great team.”

“I think the Sociedad coach says we are hostile as a courtesy, but it is the match we wanted, and we can’t always play like that,” he added.

And he added: “It was essential to return because we did not deserve to be late in the result, and it is difficult to accept defeats, and the team’s reaction was good, and I think today we played good football.”
