Argentine Lionel Messi, the star and Barcelona captain, was crowned this evening, Monday, the top scorer award in the La Liga ‘Pichichi’ for the 2019-2020 season.
Messi received the award from the famous Spanish newspaper “Marca”, after he was the top scorer last season with 25 goals, 4 goals behind his closest stalker Karim Benzema, Real Madrid striker.
This is the seventh award in Messi’s Spanish League history.
Messi had contributed to Barcelona’s occupation of the league table, with 82 points, 5 points behind the titleholder, Real Madrid.
