Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp confirmed that his star Mo Salah is going through good moments with the Reds. He has nothing to say about the Egyptian player’s statements about opening the door to his transfer to Real Madrid Barcelona.
Salah had made statements to the Spanish media, confirming that he was open to joining Real and Barcelona, which drew question marks about the player’s future with Liverpool, who moved to him more than 3 years ago.
Klopp held a virtual press conference on Thursday evening, before the match between Liverpool in the 15th round of the Premier League against West Bromwich, during which he played down the importance of what Salah had said.
“We never talk about contracts, especially with the press, so why to start now,” Klopp said. “Mo is in a good mood and has a great moment, and he’s in really good shape, and that’s the most important thing to me.”
He added, “If you are in training today, you can see him laughing a lot. He enjoyed the training session, and this is also good. The rest of what is said is nice you can write about, but inside the club … there is nothing to talk about.”
The return of Thiago
Jurgen Klopp confirmed that the club would monitor James Milner and Xherdan Shaqiri’s physical condition, indicating that the Spanish midfielder Thiago Alcantara will not play against West Brom, despite his return to training.
He continued: “Thiago took his first steps during the team’s exercises. He did not participate in the full training session, but he is making good strides, and unfortunately, we cannot hurry his return after his long absence.”
The Liverpool coach added: “The other young people are advancing, or closer than the rest. Shak trained well today, as well as Millie, yesterday during the full training session and then today as they acclimatized a little.”
He concluded: “It is a new situation for us. We still have two training sessions before we are forced to make decisions. It looks good, but I do not know; Thiago will not participate; he must go through the full training sessions, then we will think about it; It is not too far away as I hope”.
