Barcelona officially clarifies the fact that its elections have been postponed

Barcelona club explained today, Thursday, the fact that its elections, scheduled for this month, could be postponed, after a number of candidates called for it to be postponed, due to the restrictions imposed in the country, for fear of the outbreak of the Coronavirus.

The Catalan club said about this, in an official statement: “The electoral council of Barcelona met, last Tuesday, to examine the inquiries submitted by some candidates regarding the effects of Corona restrictions on the elections and collect signatures of support.”

He added, “The General Secretariat for Sports in the Catalan government was consulted on this issue, and it was confirmed that the centers would be opened to candidates for the elections.”

He concluded: “It has also been confirmed that the deadline for collecting signatures of supporting the candidates will be January 11, 2021, and the Council approved the selection of January 24 as the date for the elections.”
