AC Milan is four points clear of the top of the Italian Serie A with an easy 2-0 win at home to Turin on Saturday in returning its striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic from injury.
Juventus ended Milan’s unbeaten league record of 27 games when they beat them on Wednesday. Still, the leaders quickly recovered and won a double in the first half through Raphael Liao and Frank Casey from the penalty spot.
Ricardo Rodriguez got the visitors’ best chance when he fired a free-kick into the crossbar, but Turin struggled to pose a risk from open play.
Milan’s spirits were boosted by the return of scorer Ibrahimovic, who came as a substitute in his debut last five minutes since his injury against Napoli on 22 November.
Milan raised its score to 40 points, four points ahead of its neighbors Inter Milan, who are visiting Roma on Sunday.
Turin remained in the penultimate position with 12 points and are two points behind the safety zone, after receiving their first defeat in five matches.
