WhatsApp recently updated its terms of service and privacy policy to inform users of how to manage user data and how companies can use services hosted on the parent company Facebook for storage and management, prompting many users to search for alternative applications.

Many users have already started switching to the Signal app, which was recently considered the best free app on the App Store and Google Play Store in India, bypassing WhatsApp.

Here’s how to switch to Signal groups from WhatsApp groups as presented by the Signal application developers who have published a very easy method that allows easy and simple transition in a few steps:

Install the Signal app on your phone, and it is available free of charge for iPhone and iPad users in the App Store and Android users in Google Play.

After installing the app on your phone, open it, tap the three dots in the top right corner of the app screen. From the menu that appears, click Create a Group. Give a name to the created group and add the required contacts.

Now open the group you created, then tap the three dots on the app screen’s top right. From the menu that appears, click on the “Settings” option.

In the window that appears, click on the “Group Link” option.

Toggle the button next to the group link option.

In WhatsApp, open the group you want and paste the link you copied into the text box.

Now anyone with access to this link can directly join the group you created in Signal.

Note: The group creator can stop sharing the link at any time by toggling the previous button to Off. You can also share the link in any other messaging application and invite others to join the Signal application.
