Chelsea is looking to sign Borussia Dortmund forward Erling Haaland next summer, according to a press report.
Online magazine “The Atlantic” reported that the Norwegian player is at the top of Chelsea’s interests, as they seek to bolster their ranks with another top striker alongside Germany international Timo Werner.
It is worth noting that Haaland (20) has a contract with Dortmund, which will last until 2024, and as has been reported, there is a clause in the contract that allows his parties to exit from 2022 onwards.
According to “The Atlantic”, Chelsea are ready to pay more than 75 million euros, which would be specific to Dortmund by dispensing with the player, also targeted by Real Madrid and Manchester City.
Hans-Joachim Vatske, executive director of Dortmund, had ruled out the possibility of giving up Haaland early, saying: “Erling and his commercial director, Mino Raiola, know what they mean to us.”
Haaland advised taking the time “to mature in Dortmund, to become a full-fledged world star.”
