New twist in the Achraf Hakimi file, one of the hottest of this transfer window. The future of the Moroccan international continues to make the headlines of the press. Announced at Paris Saint-Germain, the Atlas Lion could well end up in the Premier League, with Chelsea who intends to try a masterstroke.
What destination for Achraf Hakimi? The 22-year-old talented youngster, forced to leave Inter Milan because of the financial crisis linked to the coronavirus, finds himself in the middle of a standoff between PSG and Chelsea, both eager to enlist the champion of Serie A.
According to the Italian press, Chelsea could beat PSG to attract Hakimi in their nets, by offering 60 million euros plus Emerson Palmieri or Andreas Christensen.
Inter have reportedly refused a first offer of 60 million euros from Paris Saint-Germain, wanting to get no less than 80 million euros for one of the best players of his formation. However, that wasn’t the only offer Inter received, with Chelsea making a similar offer in addition to one player.
Transfer specialist Gianluca Di Marzio suggests the Champions League winners could even become favorites, as they have players Inter would appreciate in a trade.
The Blues will be keen to fend off competition from the French giants as they strive to build a squad capable of fighting for the Premier League title next season.
However, Hakimi’s agent Alejandro Camano has once again tried to calm the heat, claiming that there are no offers on the table for the Moroccan as of yet.
With a contract until 2025 with Inter Milan, the full-back does not need to hurry. Moreover, it is not he who will ask to leave, if there is to be a departure during the summer.
“There is no ongoing negotiation with PSG, there is nothing for the moment. We don’t have an agreement with the French club for the signing, Alejandro Camano said on FCInter1908. He is well at Inter Milan. Optimistic that he’s staying? It’s a difficult time for everyone, ”he said.
Inter have set June 30 as the deadline for Ashraf Hakimi’s transfer, as that’s when he must have raised the € 80million needed to balance the books. If the deal fails, Inter could look to sell Lautaro Martinez instead.
The Lombard club signed Hakimi for € 45million last summer who continued to cause a stir with seven goals and 10 assists in his Serie A winning season.
According to the latest ranking from the Center International d’Etude du Sport (CIES), Hakimi is the most expensive player in Serie A, with an estimated market value of € 93.5 million.
