There is now no doubt, Achraf Hakimi will indeed be Parisian next season, confirmed his club, Inter Milan.
Achraf Hakimi’s move to Paris Saint-Germain is almost complete, Nerazzurri executive director Giuseppe Marotta has confirmed to Sky Sport.
“We are in the home stretch, I think it can be closed in 24 hours,” he said, adding that he regretted the departure of the 22-year-old full-back, forced to leave the Milan team at because of the harsh financial crisis that hit the club.
“It’s a painful transfer for us, but as an administrator I have to follow the club’s guidelines to ensure Inter’s survival (…) The finalization of Hakimi’s transfer will allow us to breathe a little and d ‘get the oxygen we need,’ he explains.
According to the Italian press, Inter could get between 60 and 70 million euros from the sale of the Lion of the Atlas, which arrived last year for around 40 million euros.
This sale will also benefit Real Madrid, Hakimi’s training club. The Spanish giant will receive an injection of 2.1 million euros for the Moroccan, as a solidarity payment from Inter. This is due to a mechanism defined in the FIFA Players Transfer Status Regulations; clubs which have trained a footballer aged 12-23 are entitled to 5% of any future transfers. Madrid received €40 million for Hakimi when they sold him last summer.
