Manchester United have continued their fluctuating results this season at the local and continental level, after falling into the trap of a scoreless draw with Dutch hosts Alkmaar on Thursday night in the second round of the 12th day of the European Football League.
The tie, added to the frustration of Manchester United fans, especially in light of the poor results of the Premier League team this season, where they are ranked 10th in the competition with nine points in seven games.
Man United slipped to second with goals behind the Serbian Partizan Belgrade, who beat hosts Astana 2-1, while Alkmaar finished third with two points, and Astana stays at the foot of the group with no points.
In Group D, the Italian Roma drew 1-1 with Austria’s Wolfsberger, with the same result as Turkey’s Paak Ahir and Germany’s Borussia Munich.
Roma and Wolfsberger share the lead with four points, while Paaksehir and Nchengladbach take third with one point.
In Group G, Feyenoord made a valuable double with a win over Porto, while the Swiss Young Boys beat the Rangers 2-1.
Things got more complicated in the group standings after the four teams were tied for three points, with Feyenoord leading the standings with the difference in goals ahead of their closest Young Boys, while the Rangers and Porto were third and fourth respectively.
On the other hand, Arsenal continued its perfect start and achieved their second consecutive victory after defeating hosts Sandar Dolyage of Belgium with a four-goal clean, to strengthen their lead in the 6th group, which also saw the victory of Eintracht Frankfurt of Germany on Vittoria Guimaraes of Portugal 1-0.
