The U.S. giant, which will have a limited supply of original products, has successfully launched its “Apple TV” platform almost 15 days before Disney, Netflix’s other highly anticipated rival, and will be available from November 1, in about 100 countries.
In addition, Mr. Cook pointed out that new original productions will be added monthly to the platform, which, at a $5 month, is two dollars below the price of the Disney subscription and almost half of the basic subscription to Disney Netflix in the United States. The U.S. tech giant also announced the launch of Apple Arcade, an exclusive video game platform, scheduled for September 19 and directly integrated into the App Store, its online app store.
“Apple Arcade is the only place where you have access to more than 100 exclusive and revolutionary games designed for the iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV,” said Ann Thai, Marketing Manager of the App Store.
The platform will be available, subscription-based, in more than 150 countries, she said.
