Argentine Paulo Dybala crowned the best player in the Italian Football League for the 2019-2020 season after his contribution to leading Juventus to his ninth title successively, beating Portuguese teammate Cristiano Ronaldo and top scorer Lazio Ciro Imobili.

Dybala scored 11 goals in “Serie A” this season, adding to it seven decisive passes (according to the official website of the Italian League), which contributed to leading the coach Maurizio Sari’s battalion to the title despite the modest performance.

Imobili won the Best Striker Award after he equaled the record for goals in one season by scoring 36 goals, the same number of goals scored by Argentine striker Gonzalo Higuain in the ranks of Naples 2015-2016 season before moving to Juventus.

Juventus goalkeeper Wojciech Cheshny won the Best Goalkeeper award, and Dutchman Stefan de Frey won the Best Defender award after he helped lead Inter to the title.

Argentine Papo Gomez was named the best midfielder by Atalanta, and the Swedish 20-year-old, Diane Kulosevski, loaned from Juventus to Parma, was the best player for less than 23 years.

“The performance evaluation is based on the official statistics of the Serie A League, which represents the objective criterion for the scientific evaluation of the best footballers in this season, which we completed with great determination and overcome many difficulties,” the league’s executive director Luigi de Siervo said in a statement issued on the league’s official website.

As for Ronaldo, who was crowned best player last season, he left empty handed in the individual prizes despite scoring 31 goals and his contribution to four decisive passes in the calcio this season.
