CAF officially announces the date, venue and semi-final of the Confederation Cup

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced the establishment of the semi-final and final Confederation Cup 2019-2020 season in next September in Morocco.

The CAF added in a statement on its official website, that its executive committee decided during its meeting today, Tuesday, June 30, through the technology video conferencing to resume the Champions League and Confederation Cup competitions in next September, provided that the semi-final of the two competitions will be held in one match.

She noted that Morocco will host the semi-final match as well as the final of the Confederation Cup, provided that the semi-final and final of the Champions League will be held in the same month in a country to be determined later.

On the other hand, CAF decided to hold its 42nd ordinary general assembly in December 2020 and cancel the 2020 edition of the African Football Awards.

It was also decided during the same meeting, to allocate an additional share of 16.2 million dollars to support the member unions to face the challenges arising from the spread of the Covid-19 epidemic, with each member union receiving 300 million dollars.
