Portuguese coach Jose Morais, former assistant to Jose Mourinho, has revealed that Argentine star Lionel Messi may leave Barcelona, joining Inter Milan.
The Spanish-language newspaper “Mundo Deportivo” quoted Morais as saying that Messi, who is the vice president of Inter Javier Zanetti, is the password to complete the historic deal because of their good relationship.
Morais believes that Zanetti can persuade Messi to move to Inter to fulfill the wish of former Italian club president Massimo Moratti, who has stated that his dream is to see the Barcelona star with the Inter shirt.
It seems that the tense relationship between Messi and the Barcelona administration, and his collision with the sports director Abidal, made some speculate on the possibility of his departure from the Catalan club, which Messi’s name has been associated with for 15 years since he played the first game for the first team and is only 17 years old.
Barcelona club president Josep Maria Bartomeo has stated repeatedly that Messi continues with the team and that the issue of renewing his contract with the club is almost settled, knowing that his contract expires next summer.
It is noteworthy that Morais worked as an assistant coach for Mourinho during the period that he led Inter Milan, from 2008 to 2010.
