Eriksen appears in public for the first time since collapsing on the field
Danish national team star Christian Eriksen appeared publicly for the first time since he fell in the match between Denmark and Finland in the European Championship “Euro 2020” on Saturday, after suffering a heart attack, stressing that he is in good condition and thanking him for all the support he received.
Eriksen published a picture of him via the Instagram photo sharing application, for the first time since the incident last Saturday, as he appeared in the picture smiling and pointing his thumb, in his room in a hospital in the Danish capital, Copenhagen.
“Thank you very much and for your beautiful messages and greetings from all over the world, it means a lot to me and my family,” Eriksen said. “I’m fine, but under those circumstances I still have to undergo further tests in hospital, but I feel fine.”
Eriksen collapsed on the field before the end of the first half of the match between Denmark and Finland last Saturday, as he suffered a heart attack, to be resuscitated on the field before being taken to hospital, where he is currently recovering.
“Now I will cheer for my Denmark teammates in the next matches,” said Eriksen. “Play for the whole of Denmark.”
The Danish national team will face its Belgian counterpart, the world leader in the world rankings, in the Danish capital, Copenhagen, before facing the Russian team in its last group stage match.
Denmark lost to Finland 0-1 after the match resumed two hours after Eriksen’s collapse.
