Eriksen from hospital: I won’t give up and I’m looking forward to understanding what happened

The newspaper Italian Gazzetta Dello Sport statements to the player Dane Christian Eriksen face through which a reassuring message to all, and stressed his eagerness to return soon, after suffering a health crisis suddenly snatched the spotlight at the UEFA European Championship (Euro 2020).

Eriksen suddenly fell on the pitch during his country’s match against his Finnish counterpart yesterday, Saturday, in Copenhagen, and doctors believe that he suffered a heart attack, and was resuscitated on the field before being taken to hospital.

Schutz said that Eriksen – the Italian Inter Milan player – “is joking, in a good mood. He’s fine,” and added, “We all want to know what happened, and he also wants to. Doctors do a lot of tests and it takes time.”

Eriksen, 29, is not expected to participate again in the current European championship, but he may move to his home soon to continue his recovery. Schutz said the player would remain in hospital in Copenhagen on Monday and “probably tomorrow as well.”

“He is happy after seeing how many people are interested in him. He has received messages from all over the world,” he added.

The Danish team resumed the match after about an hour of stopping due to the collapse of Eriksen, and the confrontation ended with Finland winning 1-0.

The Danish national team will play its second match in Group B next Thursday, where it will meet its Belgian counterpart.

“There is no doubt that he would like to support the national team against Belgium as a fan,” Schutz said. But he did not say if Eriksen would be present at the Parken Stadium in the Danish capital.
