Everton doubled the suffering of Liverpool and inflicted a fourth consecutive defeat in the English Premier League, where they beat them at home at Anfield 2 – zero on Saturday in the twenty-fifth stage of the competition.

Everton won the Merseyside derby match against Liverpool with two goals, scored by Richardson in the third minute and Gilfi Sigurdsson from a penalty kick in the 83rd minute, ending a wait that lasted more than 21 years, as it achieved its first victory at Anfield since 1999.

Before Saturday’s match, Everton failed to achieve any victory in its 23 games against Liverpool, which saw 12 Liverpool wins and 11 draws.

Everton’s score rose to 40 points in seventh place, behind only on goal difference, behind sixth-placed Liverpool, who thus failed to win in their last six matches at home.
