Barça has repeated its attempts to win the services of Neymar to return to Camp Nou, which left in 2017 for 222 million euros and becomes the most expensive player in the world.
According to the Catalan newspaper “Sport”, the Brazilian Leonardo is trying to persuade Neymar, 28, to extend his contract until 2025, against around 733,000 euros per week.
The new contract brings the salary of Neymar – who scored 18 goals and makes 10 more in all competitions before the suspension of football due to coronavirus – closer to the salary which wins the two stars, the Argentinian Lionel Messi and the Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo.
Neymar, who currently receives 687 thousand euros, will end his contract in the summer of 2022, and if the Brazilian international agrees to extend his contract, that means closing the door definitively to return to Barcelona.
Note that Neymar’s salary is the highest in Paris Saint-Germain, with a significant difference compared to young Clyan Mbappe, the second who earns 429 thousand euros per week.
