FIFA adopts new contracting and transfer mechanisms

FIFA has recommended the extension of player contracts that are due to expire next June, and has said that it will allow transfer dates for the extension of the current European season, after the Corona pandemic has caused the suspension of local football competitions.

FIFA also said it would encourage clubs and players “to work together to reach agreement and solutions during the football hiatus.”

FIFA showed flexibility in the upcoming transfer season dates, and indicated that sport must cope with an unprecedented revenue loss.

Today, Tuesday, the FIFA Council office approved these guidelines, the most important of which are the extension of contracts until the end of the current season, and the non-implementation of new contracts until the beginning of the next season.
