Five of Dallas officers were sent home after arresting a man with Coronavirus

According to Fox 4 News, five Dallas police officers were granted leave after being told by someone arrested on Sunday that he was infected with the coronavirus.

The 24-year-old suspect, who was arrested for his involvement in assaults and domestic violence, was transported to the hospital following minor injuries, and after receiving the necessary treatment, he informed the police, who proceeded to his arrest that he was infected with the coronavirus.

Immediately after receiving the permit from the arrested person and even though he showed no signs of illness, the police were taken to hospital for further checks and granted leave as a precaution.

The cars used by the five police officers were also removed from service for cleaning, by the policy for such epidemic infectious diseases. According to the press release,

Department members are currently working with medical professionals to draft a protocol for officers to keep them safe.
