Players and referees of the Serie A during the matches of the eighth stage of the competition appeared with a red mark on their faces. What is the story of this sign?

The players painted a small portion of their faces red to support a campaign the Italian Football Association launched years earlier in November to reduce violence against women in Italy.

The campaign is organized in cooperation with the human rights organization “We World Onlus” to increase awareness of women dealing.

The reason for choosing the red color is due to the initiative’s slogan, which was adopted by the Italian Federation under the name “Let us give violence against women a red card.”

Some players put the red mark on their faces in the stadium but took pictures of them with their wives with the red one, which contributed to the campaign’s spread more among the Italian fans.
