La Liga : Agreement on a return to training

La Liga, the body that manages professional football in Spain, and the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) have agreed to return to training in Spanish professional football, the Higher Council of Sport (CSD).

“The Higher Sports Council (CSD), La la la Liga and the Spanish football federation (RFEF) have reached an agreement to return to training in professional football,” added the Council in a press release, presiding that this return is conditioned by the evolution of the Covid-19 pandemic and the decisions adopted by the Ministry of Health ”.

The teams will resume their activities “when the sanitary conditions allow it, and following strict health protocols”, noted the press release.

The two organizations also agree on their desire to want to complete the 2019-2020 season.

In addition, “the presidents of La Liga and the federation have committed to creating a contingency fund of ten million euros to help vulnerable athletes, and invite other entities such as the football union AFE to participate”, emphasizes the Council.
