Chelsea boss Frank Lampard said he was “excited” to see Hakim Ziyech, his first summer signing, make his debut against Southampton on Saturday.

Ziyech joined Chelsea from Ajax for € 44m but could not show the extent of his talent after a knee injury in a pre-season friendly at Brighton on August 29, which prevented him from making his competitive debut.
The English technician did not hide his joy by announcing that his player is ready to set foot on the pitch. “We brought Hakim here, and it’s been a long time now, he’s worked so hard, he’s been fantastic in terms of professionalism getting in shape, and he looks perfect in training,” he said. he declared before adding:
“I have a very open relationship with him to know where he is and how I feel about it. So these just match minutes we need now ”.
“Of course I’m delighted to bring him in and surround him, to bring what we brought him to the club for which is the opportunity to create opportunities for us, to be the talented player he is and that we have seen at Ajax and I can’t wait to see him play, ” he concluded.
