Manchester City soccer pavilion German international Leroy Sané has refused to renew his contract, according to his Spanish coach Pep Guardiola revealed at a press conference today, Friday.

Sané’s contract expires in June 2021 and his name has been strongly associated with his move to Bayern Munich.

“Leroy refused to renew his contract. Everyone knows how things are going. If two clubs agree to the transfer deal at the end of the season, he can leave. Otherwise, he will leave at the end of his contract,” Guardiola said.

“The club offered him to renew his contract two or three times and he refused each time,” Guardiola added.

Sané joined Manchester City in 2016 from Schalke 04, crowned twice as German champion. However, he did not play any games this season when the Premier League stopped in mid-March after undergoing surgery on the cruciate ligament after an injury he suffered last August.
