Moroccan fans warmly saluted the players of their national team after losing to France on Wednesday in the semi-finals of the 2022 World Cup with two goals to nothing.

The French national team qualified for the final after defeating its Moroccan counterpart with goals from Theo Hernandez and Randall Kolo Mwani in the fifth and 79 minutes, to go up to face Argentina in the final match on Sunday.

The fans’ support for the Atlas Lions did not stop for more than 90 minutes, then the fans at Al-Bayt Stadium, which hosted the match, gave a warm greeting to the team when its players collapsed on the field, mourning the loss of the dream of qualifying for the final.

Coach Walid Regragui was keen to congratulate the French team on the victory on the field, then went to his players separately to console them and thank them for their efforts and persistence during the match.

In the current World Cup, the Moroccan national team became the first Arab team to reach the quarter-finals of the World Cup, and then became the first African team to qualify for the golden square in the tournament.
