The launch of new iPhones on the market this year will be delayed – the devices will not appear on sale in September, but several weeks later. This was announced by the financial director of the company Luca Maestri during a conference call with investors following the results of the third financial quarter.

It became known in April that Apple would delay the release of new iPhones due to the coronavirus pandemic, and shortly before that there were rumors that the company would also postpone the September presentation of the devices, but this, apparently, will not happen: smartphones will be presented in early September, but will become available for purchase later than usual.

The company is expected to introduce four new iPhones this year. We are talking about two successors to the iPhone 11 and updated versions of the top-end iPhone 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max.

Note that Apple had similar problems before the pandemic. So, the iPhone X was introduced in September 2017 but only went on sale in November due to earlier production difficulties.

As for the results of the second quarter of 2020 (third quarter of the fiscal year), Apple reported revenue of $ 59.7 billion (+ 11% to revenue last year). The company made a profit of $ 11.25 billion, up from $ 10.04 billion a year earlier. At the same time, revenue from the sale of iPhone smartphones almost did not increase, despite the release of the iPhone SE, but the company reported an increase in sales of Mac (by 21.6%) and iPad (by 31%). There was also an increase in revenue from sales of wearable electronics, home devices, and accessories (by 16.74%), and from services (by 14.85%).
