Neymar confirmed his continuation with Saint-Germain in the next season, putting an end to rumors of his departure and denying reports that linked him to his return to his former team Barcelona.
In comments to Paris Saint-Germain magazine, Neymar said, Monday, “I will stay with the (Saint-Germain) team next season, there are no doubts about that.”
“We have the goal next season, which is to return to the Champions League final, but to achieve the title,” he added.
He concluded his remarks, saying, “I like the idea of writing my name in golden letters in the history of Paris Saint-Germain, and contribute to achieving the first Champions League tournaments, and I will fight for that.”
The name Neymar was linked to his former club Barcelona, as the latter sought to compensate for the upcoming departure of the Argentine first team star, Lionel Messi.
Neymar has a contract linking him with Paris Saint-Germain until June 2022, a period that the Parisian club’s management is working to increase by extending the contract to ensure his continuation with the team for a longer period.
