Paris Saint-Germain won the French Club Cup final by defeating Lyon by a 6-5 penalty shoot-out after being tied negatively in the original and overtime, Friday, July 31.

With this achievement, Saint-Germain raised its record to nine record titles in the competition, achieving the local “Gran Shillem” after crowning the League, Cup and Champions Cup.

Saint-Germain was crowned champion of the domestic league by decision of the French Federation, which decided not to complete the season at the end of April because of the Coruna epidemic, before he crowned the French Cup last week at the expense of Saint-Etienne by beating him 1-0 scored by his Brazilian star Neymar.

On the other hand, Lyon was looking for his first titles since the domestic cup in 2012, and for a European qualification he had not left since 1997.

Lyon had to win to take part in the European League competition (Europa League) next season and avoid the absence of continental competitions for the first time since 1997, knowing that he was seventh in the domestic league.
