PlayStation 5: Sony introduced a game controller

DualSense 1

Sony introduced the DualSense wireless game controller, designed for the future PlayStation 5 game console. The description of the controller was published on the PlayStation developer blog.

The new controller is based on the DualShock 4 controller, which was released in 2013 and has received positive feedback from users. At the same time, the DualSense model differs from its predecessor, both externally and in terms of features: the design of the controller has become more futuristic and its functionality has been extended. So the engineers improved the vibration feedback, and now the players can feel the car they drive in the game rolling in the mud. The company has also added adaptive triggers to the L2 and R2 buttons so that players can feel the tension of actions performed, for example, shooting a bow during shooting, writes the publication “Durov Code”. In addition, the DualSense controller is lighter and can last longer without recharging.
The company said DualSense is equipped with a microphone so that even users without a headset can communicate in games. Instead of the Share button, the controller received the Create button, which will give players a new way to create content they can share, writes 3DNews. More information on this feature in Sony plans to say later.

As a reminder, the prefix Sony PlayStation 5 has not yet been officially presented (its presentation is scheduled for the fall), but Sony is gradually revealing various characteristics of the future game console. At present, it is known that the console will receive an 8-core AMD Zen 2 processor with a frequency of up to 3.5 GHz and an AMD RDNA 2 graphics core with a capacity of 10.28 teraflops. The console will have 16 GB of GDDR6 RAM, the speed of which will reach 448 GB / s. The device will also be equipped with an 825 gigabyte SSD drive and a 4K UHD Blu-ray player.
