Romelu Lukaku won the Europa League Player of the Season title after shining for Inter Milan.

Romelu Lukaku has scored seven goals in just five games for Inter, helping them advance to the Europa League final, postponed by Sevilla in Cologne.

Despite their last defeat, the Belgium international was voted best player of the competition. The forward edged Sevilla’s Ever Banega and Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes after an impressive campaign with the Italian side.

Lukaku’s compatriot, Eden Hazard, was the last winner of his last season with England side Chelsea.

“I would like to thank Antonio Conte and his team for their trust and their help. Most importantly, I want to thank my teammates. They have been like brothers to me since day one, ” said the interest when handing over his trophy.

“Every day, I train with a smile on my face. I hope this year we will do a lot better than last year and be very successful, ” added Achraf Hakimi’s teammate.

Inter are in the Champions League group stage this season and hope not to fall back into the Europa League. They face Real Madrid, Shakhtar Donetsk, and Borussia Monchengladbach in Group B. The first matches will be played on October 20 and 21.
