Ronaldo: absent from the Golden Ball award and attended his crowning ceremony in Italy

Cristiano Ronaldo, the five-time winner of the Ballon d’Or, has chosen not to attend the ceremony to be held December 2 in Paris, in anticipation of the Italian awards. After the first successful season in Italy, the 34-year-old was awarded the best striker of the 2018/2019 season by the award for Best Player in the A-Series.
“I’m proud to be the best player in Serie A,” he said. “I thank my teammates and everyone who voted for me, and now I’ll be back here next year.”

The former star of Real Madrid has also been named in the Serie A team of the year with teammates Joao Cancello (former Juventus, now Manchester City), Giorgio Cellini and Miralem Pjanic.

A jury made up of current and former Serie A players, coaches, referees, journalists and curators decided that Ronaldo was the best player in the league last season.

Ronaldo scored 26 goals in his first season in Serie A and allowed Juventus to win another national title. The Italian title was Ronaldo’s third title in the European leagues, where he also won the Liga with Real Madrid and the Premier League with Manchester United.

The Juventus striker was absent from the Golden Ball and did not attend the crowning of his best enemies, Lionel Messi. He came third behind Vergil van Djik.
