Senegalese international striker Sadio Mane confirmed on Thursday that he will not reveal his future plans until after playing the Champions League final on Saturday against Real Madrid.

British media reported that Mane, who joined Liverpool in 2016 and scored more than 120 goals for the Premier League club, is considering leaving the team coached by German Juergen Klopp in search of a new challenge.

Mane, who has one year left on his contract with Liverpool, told Sky Sports: “I will answer this question (about my future) after the Champions League (final) and whether or not I will stay.

“What I want to say now is that I am completely focused on winning the Champions League, and that is more important for me and for the Liverpool fans.”

He added: This is the answer that I must give before entering the final. But you have to come back to me on Saturday and I’ll give you the best answer you want to hear for sure. It will be a private answer. I will tell you everything you want to hear then.

The 30-year-old confirmed his full commitment to Liverpool in the European Final.

Mane said: “I will do everything in my power to win the game with Liverpool, I think we all forgot what happened in (final) 2018. Of course, Real Madrid was the best team at the time and deserved to win the game, but it will be a different game (this time).”

Real beat Liverpool 3-1 in the 2018 Champions League final in Kyiv after Karim Benzema’s goal and Gareth Bale’s double after Mane tied for Liverpool.
