Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos continues to win record titles, the most recent of which is polling the best defender in the world in football history.

The Spanish defender led the poll for the best defender in the world ever, within the dream team that will be launched by “France Football” magazine, as a substitute for the Golden Ball award that was canceled this year due to the Coronavirus epidemic.

But before that, after his historic goal number 100, Ramos swept the poll conducted by the Spanish newspaper MARCA to choose the best central defender in history, in which more than 130,000 fans voted.

Ramos received 74% of the vote, far surpassing German legend Franz Beckenbauer who came second with 18% of the vote.

Ramos also outperformed the rest of the candidates who got tiny percentages: the Dutch Ronald Koeman, the Englishman Bobby Moore, the Argentine Daniel Passarella, the German Matthias Sammer, the Frenchman Marcel Desailly, in addition to the Italians Franco Baresi and Fabio Cannavaro.
