The Dutch Sifan Hassan broke, Sunday at the athletics meeting in Hengelo in the Netherlands, the world record of 10,000 min 29 min 06 sec 82.

The athlete of Ethiopian origin, aged 28, thus erases the old record held since August 12, 2016 by the Ethiopian Almaz Ayana (29 min 17 sec 45).

Thanks to this feat, Hassan thus adds a new historic performance to his already well-stocked hunting roster. In addition to the 10,000m world record, she also owns the hour (18.930 km), mile (4 min 12 sec 33) and 5 km road record (14 min 44 sec).
