Spanish police arrest Bartomeu
On Monday morning, the Spanish police arrested Josep Maria Bartomeu, the former president of Barcelona, to investigate the issue of social networks and the smear campaign against some of the stars of the Catalan team.
The newspaper Mundo Deportivo reported that the police were in Barcelona this morning to search the main office of the club and search for files related to investigations into the issue of social networks.
She added that the police also arrested two others, former CEO Oscar Grau, and Roman Gomes Ponte, former law director, and they were placed in police custody.
Bartomeu had contracted with a company working on social media for a million euros, in order to support him and destroy his competitors, as the company was working through more than 100 fake accounts, and worked against club legends, including Lionel Messi, Gerard Pique, Pep Guardiola and Juan Laporta .
