The Davis Cup was to be held in Madrid in November, but it will take place from November 22, 2021, in the same city.
The Women’s Federation Cup, which was originally scheduled for Budapest last April, will be held from 13 to 18 April 2021 in the Hungarian capital as well.
“It is a difficult decision that we made, but organizing a global event for teams of this level and at the same time ensuring the health and safety of all participants is a major risk that could not be taken,” said David Haggerty, president of the International Federation of the game.
The professional and professional associations in tennis have announced this month that their pending competitions since last March because of the virus, will resume on August 3 and 14, in Palermo, Italy, and Washington, respectively.
