The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) has agreed to allow five substitutions per team, instead of three in preparation for the resumption of the season on June 20, after a long hiatus due to the Corona pandemic.

In a statement, the Italian Federation said that its Executive Council had agreed to “allow five substitutions for each team until the end of the 2019-2020 season.”

In May, FIFA announced that teams were allowed to make five changes to a temporary change of rules in order to reduce the impact of the busy schedule of matches expected after the pandemic (Covid-19).

FIFA has left the matter to each local federation and league association to apply this change or not.

The Italian league stopped on the ninth of last March, and the teams will play 12 tournaments in six busy weeks until the tournament ends in the second of August.
